JANUARY 2012 MEETING
Tuesday 17th January - Curry Evening at the
Spice Valley Restaurant, Stratton Way, Abingdon. Eat as much as
you can buffet for £11.95. Bookings to Spencer Clubb.
DECEMBER MEETING
There was no meeting in December.
NOVEMBER MEETING
A great night was held at Exeter College
Oxford on Friday 11th November. Sadly only Frank Venables,
Spencer Clubb, David Lang and myself attended the Region 20
Dinner. Where were the rest of you? It was a great night for
fellowship - and re-acquainting old friends from around the
Region. The guest speaker was John Spence who gave a very
amusing but also passionate speech. The MC was pretty brilliant
as well!
OCTOBER MEETING
A small gathering of
four members attended the Comrades Club at Wantage for a
Quiz Evening. We were joined by Jill Davies, Jane Venables,
Maria Green, Angela Knowlden and Janet Smith from Tangent, In
fact we were outnumbered by the Ladies! The evening was a Quiz
organised by Spencer Clubb and his attractive assistant Sharon.
The teams in pairs competed in a quiz of a mixture of general
knowledge, music and sport questions. Frank and Jane Venables
were the victors - with a score that was far ahead of anyone
else.

SEPTEMBER MEETING
6 members of the Club attended the Comrades
Club in Wantage for a Snooker Tournament. Three teams; Spencer
Clubb and Bob Fitchett, Martin Green and Eric Ferguson and Mark
Baker with Frank Venables fought it out with every effort being
made to ensure Spencer didn't win! Despite all efforts Spencer
and Bob ended up champions of the evening. An excellent meal was
provided by the Comrades Club. The evening was completed by Mark
Baker attempting to start his new Yamaha motor bike without
success. The rest of the players pushed him around the car park
without success - and then he turned the correct switches
on......

Unfortunately the Tangent Ball planned for
March 2012 has been cancelled.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The AGM took place at the Kings Head and Bell
on Tuesday 19th April. Attendance was only 7 members.
Subscriptions were set at £25 a year.
